MAXIMILIAN PFEILER (1656–1746)

Oil on canvas. Expert analysis: Prof. Giancarlo Sestieri, Rome. The refined compositions of these paintings feature various fruit arranged on a flat stone surface outdoors. One of the paintings features peaches, grapes, pears, and plums arranged by a body of water with two ducks, blue-toned flowers and large heads of cabbage. The dominant element of the second painting is a group of figs in a white napkin with elaborate lace edging, pumpkins, and grapes with leaves. The delicate brushwork and a bright colour palette are typical of Maximilian Pfeiler's paintings.
