About Us

We welcome all art lovers, collectors, and investors who share our passion for culture, aesthetics, and transcending the boundaries between history and the present.

The Arcimboldo Auction House specializes in Asian art and craft artifacts. Our auctions feature Japanese woodblock prints, rare Chinese ceramics, bronze and jade artifacts, calligraphy, scroll paintings, and decorative arts. We also offer Tibetan ritual objects, Buddhist sculptures, and historical Asian furniture.

Our history

We have many years of experience in gallery and auction activities.

In 2010, we created Kunstkomora in Malá Strana, already under the name Arcimboldo. Following the example of Rudolf II's Renaissance wunderkammer and other important collections, we carefully selected and exhibited rare antiques. Some were as old as two thousand years, came from various corners of the world, and represented various fields: from art to archaeology, natural history, and geology.

We also began to hold annual auctions of Asian art. Over time, Kunstkomora was replaced by Arcimboldo as you know it today – an auction house and meeting place for passionate collectors of historical artifacts, curiosities, and works of art.

We don't like to build walls between history and the present. We prefer to connect them in dialogue. As our founder says: "Today's art will one day be historical, just as historical art was once contemporary." With this idea in mind, our second gallery, BOLD Gallery in Prague's Holešovice district, was established in 2020, reflecting current events in contemporary art and its relationship to historical artifacts.

Our auctions

All the auctions we hold at Arcimboldo are carefully curated and combine tradition with contemporary art. We believe that art is not only an investment, but above all a way to understand historical contexts and cultures.
