The print depicts the high-ranking courtesan Agemaki, the celebrated heroine of the play Sukeroku. Part of the exclusive trilogy "Snow, Moon, and Flowers," this specific sheet represents the "Flower" element. The artist's significant contribution to Japanese art was recognized by the government in 2005 with the "Oujihosho" Medal of Honour. The edition number 68/300 is handwritten in Japanese within the publisher's red seal on the reverse. |
